Project: Flow Sheet Six E-Learning Course
Tools: Articulate Storyline, Envato, Canva
Time in Development: 32 wks
My Role: Instructional Designer/E-Learning Developer
Client: Fireside Eye Care
The Challenge:
-
The previous training program involved in-person sessions that occupied a significant amount of time for experienced optometric technicians.
-
Additionally, the training lacked consistency, resulting in inaccurate patient information being recorded.
Solution:
-
To overcome these challenges, I created an E-Learning course using the ADDIE framework.
-
This course includes a simulation of the online patient file system and provides a hands-on experience in filling out a paper Flow Sheet, closely resembling real-world scenarios.
-
The training was split into Part 1 and Part to avoid learner fatigue.
Result:
-
I developed this learner-centered and interactive E-Learning course with objectives presented as "challenges" to enhance engagement, motivation, and content retention.
-
The demonstrations and guided applications allowed learners the opportunity to experience success and failure in a controlled environment.
-
This approach encourages the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills, ultimately enabling the Flow Sheet to be completed efficiently and accurately.

Project: Voter Registration Training Program
Tools: 7taps, Canva
Development Time: 5 days
My Role: Instructional Designer/E-Learning Developer
Client: The League of Women Voters
Challenge:
Addressing the under-representation of certain demographics among registered voters.
Solution:
I proposed a user-friendly, interactive course featuring engaging graphics, interactive elements, and concise content.
Result:
-
The course was designed with the learner's perspective and attitude towards "training" in mind. I ensured the content was delivered in small, digestible segments and incorporated relatable memes and GIFs to maintain interest.
-
Additionally, polls and voter registration facts were included to captivate and aid in retaining information.
-
At the end of the course, I provided links to relevant websites, forms, and resources to streamline the voter registration process for the learners.
-
We conducted a survey to gather feedback from the participants upon completion of the course. The collected data was utilized to inform the content and delivery method for the subsequent course.
