Project: Latino Roundtable Event
Tools: Canva
Development Time: 3 days
Role: Instructional Designer / Graphic Designer
Client: League of Women Voters

Challenge:

  • The subject matter expert (SME) required an engaging infographic for a Latino Roundtable event focused on voter registration and voting rights within the Latino community.

  • The goal was to present clear and concise information on both topics within a single, easy-to-distribute infographic for attendees.

Solution:
I designed a visually appealing, double-sided infographic using Canva.

  • Side one provided comprehensive voter registration information.

  • Side two focused on key details related to the voting process.

Result:

  • The infographic adhered to best practices in instructional and visual design.

  • It was successfully distributed at the event and shared on social media, providing attendees with a quick reference guide.

  • The infographic also supplemented the 7taps voter registration microlearning course launched earlier that summer for the Latino community. The flyer to the left was posted at the event for easy access to the course.

Project: Flow Sheet Six Job Aid

Tools: Canva

Time in Development: 7 days

My Role: Instructional Designer/E-Learning Developer

Client: Fireside Eye Care
The Challenge:
The training program lacked consistency, leading to inaccurate patient information being recorded on the Flow Sheet.
Solution:
To address these issues, I developed the Flow Sheet Six Job Aid. This aid:

  • Standardized the method for gathering information from patient files for the Flow Sheet.

  • Promoted consistency in documentation by providing specific examples of how to record information accurately.

Result:

  • The job aid was crafted using best practices and visual design guidelines.

  • It is easily accessible within the learning course and near the optometric technician station.

  • This approach provides a quick reference guide to supplement the learning course or serve as a refresher.

Tools: Canva
Development Time: 7 days
Role: Instructional Designer / Graphic Designer
Client: Bell Book & Brass

Challenge:
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) sought a simple, memorable method for patrons to arrange a bouquet after purchasing from her booth and to support a hands-on workshop she was leading.

Solution:

  • I collaborated with the SME to develop a structured learning experience, focusing on the key components of floral arrangement.

  • I suggested the "3F Rule"—Focal, Filler, and Foliage—breaking down the bouquet into digestible parts.

  • I created detailed guidelines for each section, including its role in the arrangement, the recommended types of blooms, their quantities, and visual examples.

Result:

  • Utilizing instructional design principles and visual design best practices, I created a visually appealing job aid.

  • By leveraging an acrostic mnemonic, learners could easily recall the essential elements of the 3F Rule.

  • This guide not only enhanced the workshop but also provided a practical takeaway for customers purchasing from the booth at the festival.
